Rolling Thunder Special Needs Program, Inc. is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to providing challenged individuals with the opportunity to successfully participate in all levels of mainstream running, walking or wheelchair racing year round in an inclusive setting. It is open to developmentally and/or physically challenged individuals ages 5 or older, regardless of athletic ability. There is no membership fee to join or participate in any of our activities and all of the coaches are volunteer (there is no paid staff).

Rolling Thunder Special Needs Program is only able to serve the athletes in our community through the generous support of local sponsors. These donations give athletes the opportunity to thrive within a positive team environment. This program has offered many athletes the opportunity to advance their running skills thus allowing them to achieve the ability to run professionally. Two athletes whom have participated in our program represented Team USA at the 2016 Paralympics. In 2015, three athletes represented Team USA in Ecuador at the INAS Global Games in which they brought home the silver medal. In 2014, we had three athletes represent Team USA at the World Cross Country Championships in Poland bringing home the bronze medal. In 2017, we were able to take 11 athletes to the Adaptive Sports USA Junior Nationals. We are proud to say all of our athletes not only brought home a USA national champion plague for each participant but they each won several gold, silver and bronze medals in their respective events.
